J-Plasma

J-Plasma is a breakthrough, minimally invasive skin resurfacing treatment that can tighten the skin for a more youthful appearance. This treatment harnesses cold atmosphere plasma (CAP) to tighten tissues at a level not formerly attainable. At Center for Plastic Surgery, we offer J-Plasma to patients from Washington, DC; Chevy Chase and Bethesda, MD; Arlington and Fairfax, VA; and surrounding areas as an alternative to surgical procedures such as facelift, liposuction, or tummy tuck for a more youthful appearance, without large incisions or lengthy downtime. We can also combine J-Plasma with plastic surgery for enhanced skin smoothing and tightening.

What Areas Can J-Plasma Treat?

J-Plasma can be used to tighten skin on many areas of the body, including:

  • Face
  • Back
  • Thighs
  • Neck
  • Breasts
  • Arms
  • Abdomen

Who Is a Candidate?

Individuals with mild to moderate skin laxity who do not want to undergo traditional surgical procedures may be able to benefit from J-Plasma. A consultation with our team can help to ensure that this treatment option is right for you.

Your J-Plasma Treatment at Center for Plastic Surgery

The J-Plasma treatment is done in-office under local anesthesia and usually lasts between 1 to 3 hours, depending on the number of areas treated. Small incisions will be created in the areas to be treated, and the J-Plasma device will be inserted sub-dermally to emit cold plasma to instantly tighten and improve skin elasticity. Small stitches will be used to close the incisions, resulting in almost no scarring in the area.

Unlike other skin tightening treatments, only one J-Plasma treatment is needed. Patients can start to see some improvement soon after treatment, though results will continue to improve over the next several months to a year as new collagen continues to form.

After Your Treatment with J-Plasma

Following your J-Plasma treatment, swelling and bruising will occur, which may take a few weeks to resolve. While most patients can return to normal activities after a few days, some patients may require more downtime. After about a year, patients can see final results and enjoy their tighter, more youthful look!
