Fraxel® Laser Resurfacing in Washington, D.C.
Think of your skin as a digital photo in need of high-quality restoration or touch-up. Just as a photographic image is altered pixel by pixel, Fraxel®treatment improves your appearance by addressing a fraction of your skin at a time.
Fraxel® laser treatment works at a microscopic level, stimulating a natural healing process from the inside out. It stimulates replacement of damaged tissue with younger, smoother healthier skin. Our clients in the Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas choose Fraxel® laser treatment to improve the tone, texture and pore size of their skin. They love the additional benefit of softened lines and reduced facial wrinkles.
What to Expect from Fraxel® Laser Resurfacing
At your initial consultation, we will determine the best treatment plan for your desired results. On average, an effective treatment regimen requires three to five sessions, spaced about two to four weeks apart. Results are immediate and progressive; optimal improvement is usually visible in two to three months. Because Fraxel® treatment spares healthy tissue, it is effective even on delicate skin areas, such as the neck, chest, and hands.
In most cases, only topical anesthesia is used. If you are having a significant area of your skin treated, we will discuss the option of a pain management approach to maximize your comfort.
Recovery Following Your Fraxel® Laser Resurfacing Treatment
You may apply makeup or shave soon after treatment. Many patients are able to return to routine activities, including work and social obligations, the same day of treatment. Others may require a little more time, depending on their skin condition and treatment. In the weeks and months following treatment, the body continues to repair the deeper dermal tissues, producing additional beneficial changes and an increasingly healthy, youthful appearance.
The specific risks and the suitability of Fraxel® treatment for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. Minor complications occur occasionally, but do not affect a successful outcome. Major complications are rare.
