Halo™ Hybrid Laser

There are so many skin rejuvenation treatments out there, each boasting it’s “the best” at treating one particular issue. Wouldn’t it be nice to find one treatment that can do it all, without weeks of downtime or months of repeated treatments?

Yes, it would, and that’s why Center for Plastic Surgery is excited to offer Halo™ hybrid fractional laser skin resurfacing for patients from Washington, DC; Chevy Chase and Bethesda, MD; Arlington and Fairfax, VA; and surrounding areas. The Halo is truly the first laser of its kind: powerful enough to reduce wrinkles, scars, and other deeper blemishes, yet gentle enough to use on the entire face, neck, or chest to give you an overall gorgeous glow in as few as two treatments with minimal downtime.

How Halo™ Laser Treatments Can Help You Achieve Beautiful Skin

Most lasers fall into one of two categories: ablative or non-ablative. The former removes layers of skin to quickly diminish imperfections but comes with the trade-off of several weeks of healing time. Non-ablative lasers avoid the downtime but work more slowly and often require a lengthy series of monthly treatments. Moreover, each of these laser types is better at treating certain skin issues (i.e., ablative lasers are great for scar reduction, while non-ablative lasers are better for pigmentation problems).

The Halo laser combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths into one single treatment, allowing you to address multiple skin issues and achieve brighter, smoother skin with minimal downtime. Because we can customize the ratio of ablative/non-ablative wavelengths, we can target specific problems with maximum efficiency.

What Skin Problems Can the Halo™ Laser Treat?

The Halo shines in its versatility and can be a great option for patients of most skin types to:

  • Reduce fine lines & wrinkles
  • Correct visible sun damage
  • Minimize freckles & brown spots
  • Improve skin texture
  • Minimize large pores
  • Restore a more even skin tone
  • Diminish scars from acne, surgery, or injury

How Much Does a Halo Laser Skin Treatment Cost in the Washington, DC, Metro Area?

At our Chevy Chase location, Halo laser skin resurfacing treatments cost $1,675 for the first treatment. The price for a second treatment depends on individual patient needs and cosmetic goals.

What to Expect With Halo™ Laser Treatments

Our highly experienced skin health specialists currently perform Halo laser treatments at our Chevy Chase, MD, location. Allow at least 60 minutes for treatment, and arrive without makeup on.

After applying an anesthetic topical gel to the skin, your provider will adjust the Halo laser device to emit the specific wavelengths needed to safely and effectively achieve your desired improvements. She will then run the handheld Halo device over your skin and deliver the laser treatment.

Expect to feel a warm sensation, as well as some tingling or prickling, but most patients experience minimal discomfort. After treatment, you may have some redness (like a mild sunburn) in the treatment area.

When Will I See Results With Halo Laser Treatments?

How soon you notice your final results will depend on your treatment goals. Most patients notice improvements in skin tone and texture, including a radiant glow, within one week of treatment. More dramatic reductions in hyperpigmentation and sun damage take place over 2 to 3 weeks after treatment, while the skin-firming effects of Halo will continue for several months.

It’s important to apply broad-spectrum SPF before going outdoors to protect treated skin while it heals and ensure the best possible results.

How Many Halo™ Treatments Will I Need?

Again, this depends on your goals. Patients who desire an overall boost in skin tone and brightness typically choose to have two treatments, while those who wish to address multiple or more advanced skin concerns may need up to four treatments to achieve their goals. We will discuss how many treatments you might need during your free skincare consultation.
