It’s been 3 months since my tummy tuck surgery and I feel great! Dr. Rao did a TT with muscle repair and fixed my umbilical hernia and diastis recti. The surgery went very smoothly and my recovery has been pretty textbook. Dr. Rao did everything exactly as explained and I’m healing very well with no complications at all. Got my breast augmentation done - Dr Rao uses preserve minimally invasive technique, With shorten of recovery time and you don't have to go under general anesthesia. It's done under Ivy sedation Excuse me....oh my God This technique is a game changer... I am only two weeks postop surgery, but I am Healed very well with no complications. After having a bilateral mastectomy in 2023, my google search finally rested on the name of Dr Samir Rao in 2024. I traveled from Kentucky to Maryland to meet with him for a FREE consultation. Within the first 60 seconds I knew that he would be my surgeon. Dr. Rao did more than the DIEP Flap surgery. Dr Rao is a miracle worker. After being told by another plastic surgeon that reconstruction with implants after double mastectomy was impossible, I was fortunate to find Dr Rao. He gave me new breasts similar to the originals. Dr Rao is a really wonderful doctor.

I first saw Dr. Rao for a ruptured breast implant (original implants placed in 2013). He not only cleared the leaking silicone and replaced the implants, he did some kind of surgical mesh magic, lifting my aging chest and bringing a symmetry that I honestly don’t think I had even before I sacrificed my breasts on the alter of breastfeeding 4 children. Dr. Rao is that talented! Additionally, the office is not only efficient but so soothing, so relaxing that I am actually tempted to slip in with a book and a cup of tea just to experience again the ambiance, the kindness and beautiful smiles of his staff, not to mention Dr. Rao himself who breezes in and out in cheerful, sartorial splendor. From the very first meeting , I knew he would be the dr for me. His kindness and professionalism was impeccable, but his results after the surgery is nothing short of amazing! He is a true artist. He was very truthful about what to do and what not to do. He even took the time to see my son who is stationed in another county and was home for a short visit about potentially repairing something for him. The whole staff is amazing. He gives you a booklet for a game plan. The results of my NEW body is a game changer. I turned 50 recently and look better now that I did at 30. Absolutely the best physician!! 💕

Dr. Rao and his staff are phenomenal. From the moment I consulted, he was clear, concise, understanding, and answered all my questions. Dr. Rao even made certain he was available to answer follow-up questions at a moment’s notice. I had a successful surgery and have even recommended many to him because of the look of my work. She lets you know her whereabouts if she’s not in the office and ensures you will receive assistance. She informative of the process and can answer all questions. I saw Dr. Rao in September 2020 for a consultation for possible abdominoplasty and breast lift. He listened to me on what I wanted to have done and then he made some suggestions of what he thought would give me the best results. Hands down from beginning to end of my procedure, Dr. Rao and his staff were all amazing! They were able to answer all of my questions at all my appointments as well as via email. With this being my first ever procedure I was nervous and excited all at the same time. Dr. Rao without a doubt is a magician and he worked his magic!! I recently had a mini tummy tuck and liposuction with Dr. Rao and he did an excellent job. Minimal scarring and a precise incision. He also explained everything in everyday terms so that the average person without a medical background could understand and feel comfortable.

Dr. Rao is amazing. First, I have trust issues, so I arrived with my walls up and a lot of questions. I have heard a lot of horror stories about breast reduction surgery, so I was not sure what to expect. Dr. Roa was very personable and answered all my questions and calmed my fears. He let me know not only was the surgery a great option, but he would make sure I still felt secure in what was left. After my consultation I did a little research on who he is as a person (just google him to see the wonderful things he does behind the scenes.) and slowly felt my walls come down. I had a "mommy makeover" (drainless tummy tuck with muscle repair, lipo of hips and back, and 520 cc breast augmentation (no lift)). After being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2019, I was referred to Dr. Samir Rao by my Breast Surgeon, Dr. Stephanie Akbari. Dr. Rao was the Plastic Surgeon who did my Breast Reconstruction. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Rao! During my first appointment, Dr. Rao explained the reconstruction process and exactly what was involved. I felt immediately at ease knowing I was going to be in great hands throughout the process. I recently finished my reconstruction and I have to say Dr. Rao did an amazing job! I highly recommend him. The nurses, patient coordinator and front office staff in his office are also incredible. They were always so friendly and very helpful.

Dr. Albino and Dr. Rao performed Diep Flap reconstruction surgery on me post mastectomy due to breast cancer. I am BLOWN AWAY at the results. I am still early in the recovery process but every time I look down, I smile and get so excited about my results. Dr. Albino is my main doctor at CPS and has been caring, thoughtful, and has continuously checked in on me through the process. I can’t recommend this team enough. Breast cancer is a scary, overwhelming diagnosis. Facing a lumpectomy, my breast surgeon recommended Dr. Rao as a top notch surgeon to perform a reduction. (I figured: I'm going through this terrible health experience, I might as well try to find a silver lining). I am incredibly thankful for Dr. Rao's expertise and for my results! I have had no complications, and appreciated his friendly, kind manner throughout. Receiving a diagnosis that requires breast surgery can be devastating . Dr. Rao explained my procedure and reassured me that of my post operative results . I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about Dr. Rao and the entire team at CPS! From my initial consultation to my surgery and then follow up, the experience was wonderful. My experience with Dr. Rao was exceptional. I was having a very personal procedure yet he and his staff made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. Dr. Rao was professional and realistic and handled my procedure with precise detail. His surgical nurse, Sayfonh, was awesome! She even kept in touch after the procedure to make sure I was healing correctly. Dr. Rao is an amazing surgeon. At first I was very nervous about my procedure however Dr. Rao explained the full procedure and reassured that all will be great! He was right. I will always be happy I selected Samir Rao as my plastic surgeon for breast reconstruction! Approaching 2 years since I began the BMX/diep flap process and 3 surgeries later, I have always been impressed and grateful for Dr. Rao's technical advice and surgical skills. As a communicator I find him a straight shooter with his professional advice while also being compassionate. I really value the combo because breast cancer for me has been as much an emotional as well as a physical challenge so partnering with a doctor who is highly competent to the physical needs and responsive to the emotional has made me feel well cared for and in good hands! I also greatly appreciate Laramie, who goes out of her way to facilitate easy access and quick responsiveness to any questions and needs as they arise.

I honestly don’t know where to start so I will give you a short background of my journey. I am a bariatric patient who had bariatric surgery in 2012 I lost 120 pounds and was left with a significant amount of loose skin. Before I had even gone to meet Dr. Rao in person I had already started leaning towards choosing his practice. When inquiring about the surgery team and coordinator Laramie Johnson (who is the absolute best)  made me feel so welcomed and watch me through the entire process and made sure that I was comfortable with my decision, comfortable with coming out of state even for a visit, and also being very transparent about the doctor not normally taking out-of-state patients with some of my medical background. Prior to even setting an appointment, Dr. Rao himself called me spoke with me even FaceTime to me from his personal cell (how many Dr.'s do you know facetime a patient?) and made me feel like a friend rather than a potential patient. He went over everything with me thoroughly his concerns and most importantly what he and I would need to do to ensure I have a safe and successful surgery. A couple days before the appointment Dr. Rao‘s team was consistently calling me checking on me making sure that I had everything in order to come for the visit offering me different options of directions and during my travel calling to check to make sure that I would be arriving safely. Once I met Dr. Rao I knew then that he was the perfect man for the job. He and his team are so full of personality and down to earth. (Even my husband who is a Director of a Hospital was empressed by him and his team, mind you that rarely happens) When I decided to confirm my choice with Dr. Rao and his staff everyone was so accommodating and their red carpet world-class customer service was consistent and amazing from the beginning till present day. The weeks leading up to surgery I became extremely nervous and had a lot of anxiety and considered canceling and or just backing out and just as I have made the decision to call and cancel, Tina (Now she is heaven sent) his nurse calls me and says to me that she was calling to check on me and wanted to talk to me about any concerns or anxiety I might have about the procedure as this is common in patients for the surgery. This made me feel so comfortable and I did express my anxiety and concerns and of course they made me feel right at ease. His staff called and checked on me every other day leading up to surgery. Dr. Rao and his team made sure that I had a wonderful experience during a time where I was having major surgery and they cared for me like a friend or a loved one and not just a patient who was paying for a service. I have never met a doctor or an office staff that conduct themselves with such tailored mean 1st class customer service and professionalism. My surgery and post opp results were a complete success. Dr.Rao not only met our expectations but definitely exceeded them by far. I must say he is the only doctor in my whole life that I get super excited to go see every time. I do plan to continue reconstructing my body (but of course Dr.Rao would not allow it until after I made a full year of recovery as he wanted me and my body to just rest so I can enjoy my results) from my weight loss journey. I know that Dr. Rao and his team will be the only ones I will and trust with my health and life when it comes to cosmetic surgery. He is truly an amazing/talented doctor who also has the best care team around. It was definitely worth all the inconvenience of driving and being out of state and away from my family and kids during Christmas while undergoing my procedure and recovery. I got referred to Dr. Samir Rao by my cancer surgeon. What a phenomenal reference - he is a great and a blessed surgeon and an equally great person. In a way, I think God made up for my cancer by introducing me to Dr. Rao. He is very patient and overlooks sometime easily offending comment. His staff (front office, patient coordinator Laramie, nurses - Tina and other nurses) are equally kind and compassionate. Front staff office is very welcoming and accommodating. For my every appointment, I have ended up calling them that I am stuck in traffic and will be a bit delayed and they have always put me at ease. Laramie went out of her way to help us with our personal needs and is very accommodating. I need 3 surgeries and I am already down 2. My first two surgeries required personal help and favor, and Laramie and Dr. Rao helped me with whatever I needed without any hesitation, and, with no questions asked. Their help played very important role in relieving my stress going into surgeries. Tina is very patient and never treats any of your questions as silly. She explained in detail how to prepare myself for both surgeries and what to expect pre and post-surgery. She and Dr. Rao helped me with my personal needs again without any questions and hesitation. If you know what you need, then you will not find any excuses from either Dr. Rao or his team. They accommodate every reasonable request, and, if it is within their means, will help you. If you know your questions - I have called numerous times - Dr. Rao's staff has always responded with unflinching dedication, compassion and empathy. For Dr. Rao, he is a very modest person. Don't be fooled by his modesty. He is an outstanding doctor, surgeon and person. He is a machine with the speed and accuracy with which he performs surgery. He operated on me twice (so far), first when he teamed with Dr. Akhbari for my cancer (she herself is a phenomenal doctor). He explained my options at the time and explained what to expect and more importantly what NOT to expect. He did not treat any of my questions as being silly. During my first surgery, I had made up my mind that I will be going with implants - having met couple of plastic surgeons before him, and, none suggested that I am a candidate for DIEP surgery. Dr. Rao explained what to expect with implants and he jokingly reassured me that even when you are 90 years old, your rest of your body will wither away but my work will stand the test of times. He explained in detail how he is going to perform the surgery and where exactly he is going to cut my skin. It might give you chills while reading this, but trust me, you want to know exactly what is going to happen to your body before you go under the knife. He is non-judgemental in terms of whether you want a larger breast or smaller breast. Just know your questions, and he is open to discuss. I was all set and scheduled for implant surgery - a comparatively shorter surgery - until... As I educated myself and met fellow survivors on the way, learnt that while implant may be good, my body type may be suitable for DIEP surgery. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Rao again and he confidently told me that, sure, you are a good candidate for DIEP surgery. He did mention that, this is a different type of surgery and it will take some scheduling to be done since I will need another surgeon to assist me and we may have to move dates we have originally scheduled for. He also explained that this will have longer recovery time than the implant surgery we originally discussed. He was not trying to discourage me, but just laying it out for me in terms of what to expect. The beauty of Dr. Rao and his team is, during both surgeries when I asked to see sample of his past surgeries, he somehow managed to show me the picture of someone who had exactly similar type of breasts that I did. Maybe I got lucky I guess, but that took away lot of surprise away in terms of what to expect. If you are in VA / D.C./MD are, you cannot go wrong in choosing Dr. Samir Rao. When I found out I had breast cancer, I needed a plastic surgeon. I was very nervous about the whole procedure but after meeting with Dr. Rao and his staff, I felt so much better about everything. I became a patient of Dr. Rao last year after being diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer. My breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Feldman spoke highly of him and his expertise. I looked no farther and have been pleased with him and his staff every step of the way. He performed a DIEP Flap along with my mastectomy by Dr. Feldman. It was the most terrifying time in my life but felt comfort in their hands. It’s been a process with the type of cancer/gene mutation that I have and being that more cancer was found after the expanders were placed. Dr. Rao is always polite, professional, but to the point. I like to inquire a lot and he always makes me feel confident that all will work out for the good. Also, I can’t say enough about Tina. She’s a great asset to his team and is reassuring and as kind as she could possibly be.

I have always had issues and insecurities with my stomach for years and even more after I had my two boys. I have thought of doing a tummy tuck for a while and I finally made the decision to go through with it. So I went to Dr. Rao because I saw some of his work and I was super impressed. He said I was a great candidate and made me very confident on going through with surgery. I had a great experience from The start of my surgery to the end. From the first day of my consult, to surgery and my complete recovery. I was super impressed on my results. I seriously was able to put on a bikini for the first time after years. I had even abs, a flat stomach and a sexy belly button that I never had before. I went from 160lbs to 142lbs and from a size 9/10 to a size 4 to 6. Dr. Rao is beyond Amazing and I would recommend him to anyone. I am a runner and had issues with chafing on my inner thighs. Dr. Rao is an extremely skilled surgeon who I selected for my surgery and other procedures after interviewing several doctors. I am 100% pleased with the results. Additionally he is a kind, considerate, caring GENTLEMAN. He and his staff were so attentive to my needs before and after my procedures. Dr. Rao is an excellent listener and fully addressed my questions in easy to understand terms. I travel from the upper Midwest to see Dr. Rao because I fully trust him.

Dr. Rao's skill as a plastic surgeon is matched only by his compassion and warmth as a doctor. The medial thigh lift he preformed on me could not have turned out any better. Although I am still in the recovery stage six weeks out from the procedure, the difference could be seen almost immediately. When I came for my first consultation with Dr. Rao he immediately put me at ease. He very confidently as he explained how he would help me. He knew the latest techniques, ensuring the best outcome for me. I was not your typical patient for a thigh lift, usually due to major weight loss, my thigh lift was to remove scarred skin. I remember seeing him in the surgery room, sensing I was feeling anxious, gently patting my arm, he said in a reassuring voice, "don't worry, everything will be fine, I will take good care of you." Next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery, and everything WAS fine, in fact, the surgery had gone beautifully. Although Dr. Rao had cautioned me about wound separation during the recovery process, I healed with no problems, a testament to his exceptional skill as a surgeon!
