Chemical Peels

Sun damage and the loss of skin elasticity due to aging can cause most wrinkles.

As we age, the elastic fibers in the deeper layers of the dermis (the second layer of the skin) lose their strength, allowing the skin to sag and wrinkle. When fine wrinkles can’t be corrected by a facelift or blepharoplasty, we recommend chemical peels or microdermabrasion treatments to reduce—or in some cases, eliminate— these wrinkles. Our medspa patients from Washington, DC; Chevy Chase and Bethesda, MD; Arlington and Fairfax, VA; and surrounding areas can choose from a number of different types of peels.

MicroPeel

Micropeels use very light peeling agents and can be repeated several times to obtain the final result. They generally remove the surface of dead skin cells that exist on top of the skin, revealing smooth, clear skin underneath. It also combines dermaplaning and cryotherapy to further remove problem areas and increase tautness. These low-risk, light peels allow you to wear makeup immediately following treatment and maintain your normal daily routine. These can be a great way to rejuvenate the skin and give it a healthy glow without recovery time before a big event.

MicroPeel Plus

The MicroPeel Plus is a quick and easy treatment that gives great results in smoothing fine lines, minimizing pores, decreasing pigmentation, and reducing scarring or sun damage. It targets problem areas that are rooted deeper in the skin than those treated by a MicroPeel and also stimulates new skin cell growth with salicylic acid. Like the MicroPeel, this treatment is low-risk and requires virtually no downtime or recovery, while creating a new, healthy facial profile.

TCA Peel

TCA (trichloroacetic acid) is a skin-resurfacing treatment that removes dead skin cells, revealing a new layer of skin that appears smoother and more vibrant. As a result, it softens fine lines, minimizes superficial age spots and other skin discolorations, and generally improves the tone and texture of your skin. This treatment can be a great alternative to laser treatments aimed at treating melasma or other discoloration. TCA peels are also very popular for diminishing the appearance of acne scars and can be performed at different depths, depending on your skin’s needs. This treatment can be performed on the entire face, or around the eye area.

VI Peel

The VI Peel is a specially formulated, medical-grade chemical peel designed to improve skin’s appearance when struggling with sun damage, acne, or the signs of aging. The skin on the face, hands, chest, or other areas of the body can be rejuvenated as unsightly wrinkles, acne, unevenness, age spots, and more are reduced in appearance, while youthful collagen production revives skin from the inside out. VI Peels are effective in the treatment of numerous forms of skin damage, and can also aid in the removal of precancerous skin cells. A unique chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the damaged surface layers, allowing the healthy skin underneath to be revealed, while collagen from within the tissue is encouraged to flourish.

ZO 3-Step Peel®

The ZO 3-Step Peel® is a highly effective treatment to address the many signs of skin aging. This peel can treat melasma, sun damage, fine lines, uneven texture, large pores, dull skin, and acne. It is also safe to use on any skin type and color. This peel is performed in the following 3 steps:

1.

The peel solution is applied to exfoliate the skin.

2.

The Stimulating Retinol Crème is applied to stimulate cellular function at a deep level for collagen enhancement.

3.

The Calming Crème is applied to minimize inflammation and restore moisture balance to the skin.
