Facelift Washington DC, Maryland

Over the years, we have refined an approach to facelift surgery that we call the “Washington DC facelift.” It is defined by what’s best for each individual and can include a combination of procedures—both surgical and non-surgical. We are known throughout the Washington DC-area for facelifts performed with skill and artistry, and for outcomes that result in the restoration of youthful—yet age-appropriate—appearance for each of our patients.

WHAT IS A WASHINGTON DC FACELIFT?

A Washington DC facelift is a unique combination of procedures, custom-designed for each patient. A facelift for many patients may primarily be a “neck lift” or some combination of procedures that focus on the lower face, jaw line and neck. For others, aging is most apparent in the upper and lower eyelid areas as well as the cheek and brow areas, so a “facelift” will focus on these areas. Still others will gain the most benefit from a traditional facelift, also called Rhytidectomy, which does a superb job of addressing generalized signs of aging. Any combination of surgical procedures to remove accumulated fat, repair muscles that have stretched and remove excess skin is called a “facelift.”

Many times a facelift recommendation includes laser resurfacing and other non-surgical procedures such as BOTOX® Cosmetic injections, collagen treatments, fat injections and overall skin care. Some patients have other procedures at the time of their facelifts. These include liposuction, “tummy tuck,” reshaping the nose and chin and cheek implants. Read more about these and all the procedures we offer at the Center for Plastic Surgery including the many possible combinations for a Washington DC facelift.

YOUR FIRST STEP FOR A FACELIFT: CONSULTATION

The best place to begin is a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon (American Board of Plastic Surgery). At CPS, the consultation is free. You will experience our unique, thoughtful approach right from the start. We listen carefully to you, your concerns and expectations. We present all appropriate options for you from skin care and non-surgical procedures to appropriate facial rejuvenation surgeries. We will explain the benefits of each and we encourage you to ask questions.

A WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT FACELIFT SHORTCUTS

Facelift terminology can be confusing, so it’s best to beware of gimmicks and promises that sound too good to be true. Come in for a free consultation and we will begin the discussion about what will best address your areas of concern and serve to restore the youthful appearance you desire. We urge you to avoid the “all-or-nothing” approaches that can lead to a look that is unbalanced, extreme, “windswept” or artificial.

IN MARYLAND, VIRGINIA, WASHINGTON DC, FACELIFT TIMING IS A PERSONAL CHOICE

There is no “right” age for a facelift. Whenever changes due to aging, sun damage or genetic factors begin to bother you, we invite you to have a free consultation. For some people, this is as soon as there is any sense of “drooping.” Others wait until changes are more advanced and jowl formation begins. Learn more about how the aging process unfold.

HOW LONG DOES A FACELIFT LAST?

The answer is as individual as you are. While surgery can turn back the clock, it does not stop aging. Facial aging will continue at a normal rate for you. Some patients begin to consider a second facelift in six to ten years. Many patients never have a second procedure.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A FACELIFT

We know you are in the midst of a process—considering whether a facelift is right for you, whether this is the best time in your life for a facelift and who is the plastic surgeon you are most comfortable with. To give you a sense of what to expect during the facelift surgery process, please review the steps for a facelift patient at the Center for Plastic Surgery, easily accessible to the Washington DC area.
