Advanced Technology for Liposuction

Suction-assisted lipectomy is a leading-edge technique that is ideal for removing localized collections of excess fatty tissue. Typical areas for suction-assisted lipectomy include the hips, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, as well as the facial and neck areas. Suction-assisted lipectomy has increased rapidly in popularity because of its minimal scarring, excellent results* and a high degree of safety. Tumescent, Micro-aire, ultrasound and laser-assisted techniques are all options your plastic surgeon may discuss with you.

Recovery Following Liposuction

After liposuction, you will be placed in an elastic support garment, similar to a girdle, while you are still asleep. This garment will cover and compress the treated areas to limit fluid accumulation and provide gentle, balanced pressure, assuring a smooth final contour. You will wear this garment continuously for two to four weeks, except when bathing.

Some patients experience bruising and swelling after liposuction. Others experience “skin rippling.” These conditions will improve considerably in the first few weeks, but the final result* can take up to three months or longer to be fully visible. Most patients are able to resume normal activities, including walking and driving, within five to seven days. You should postpone strenuous exercise for three weeks.
